Pastoral Director, April 2026
These days are indeed difficult for missionaries to follow Christ in their mission journeys. It is incredibly difficult for them to continue!
Among the missionaries we care about:
1. A missionary underwent minor surgery, but the doctor administered an excessive amount of anesthesia. As a result, his entire mouth became ulcerated after the surgery, rendering him unable to speak or eat, suffering unspeakable pain. Furthermore, his parents back home is seriously ill, and another relative has passed away. He longed to return home for the funeral and to visit his parents, but unfortunately, he was under government surveillance and, for safety reasons, could not return. However, he remained steadfast in his commitment to the twenty plus established churches, prioritizing the nurturing of local believers, and walking the narrow path with the Lord.
2. A couple was sent by a missionary organization to a remote, impoverished area to plant churches. They lacked funds and lamented, "Why doesn't the organization plan properly how to do the Lord's holy work? We are being sent empty-handed!" They did not give up. Despite their lamentations, they waited in faith for God's guidance. In the past, they risked their lives in extremely dangerous areas for the Lord. According to local custom, anyone discovered entering to preach would be executed! Yet, they boldly led the locals to Christ, and a group of them now worships together daily.
Prayer Requests:
1. Thanks be to God, a family in a war-torn region, whose future seemed uncertain and whose parents were deeply troubled by their children's education, has, through the care of our team members, learned how to address their children's current problems and hopes to continue receiving care and support.
2. Thanks be to God, a group of missionaries in countries with religious restrictions, whom we previously unable to contact online, have now been reached and know they are safe. They are seeking support from the Thrive Mission.
3. The summer camp for missionaries' children originally planned for this year in Asia has been revised by that organization. We will adjust and reorganize our pastoral care plan for missionaries' children this year. We pray that the Lord will grant us wisdom and strength to make updated arrangements.
4. Thanks be to God; we have a group of prayer warriors who regularly intercede for the Thrive Mission every month. May the Lord bless their families and bring them peace in all things.
5. We urgently need funds to support our various missionary and missionary children's ministry projects. Please remember that the Lord will do His good purpose, so that every giver in the Thrive Mission may, through their giving, enter the abundance God has given them.
